If you've kept up with our blog you probably read the post about our trip up to Colorado to see Dusty's grandparents. It was really the trip from you know where for me and Brier, but I am so thankful that we went. We got word late last night that Dusty's grandmother passed away. Amy and Jody are already in Colorado and Dusty will be leaving soon for the funeral, he will be making a hard, quick trip up there not to miss very much work and not to get to far from home with a 9 month pregnant wife. Which brings me to another subject yesterday for my non-stress test my contractions were registering around a 3 or 4 out of a scale of 10, they don't think they're doing anything at this point but they have really picked up this past week. I didn't bother to tell Dusty that my contractions were that high, there's no reason to worry him more at this point about leaving, what is meant to happen will. If I go into labor while he's gone that is what was meant to be, but please keep him in your prayers for a safe and speedy trip.

A baby luncheon/shower
My wonderful sister-in-law, Shonnie, and cousin, Gina, gave me a baby luncheon/shower. I felt guilty for having one considering that I just had a huge shower with Brier a couple of years ago. So I only invited local, immediate family. But, I must say I think my family enjoyed buying me girly pink stuff and I really enjoyed getting it. Here are some of the pictures.
Dusty really wanted Brier to have a little brother but the closer it gets I think he's getting more excited about having a little cowgirl.
and yes I know I look bad, but I'm 9 mos pregnant I'm not going to worry to much about it.

Baby update
I went to my high risk doctor, Dr. Atkinson, yesterday and everything checked out a-ok. She looked good. She's a very tiny girl right now so they want me to come back next week again just to make sure she's gain some weight in a week and hasn't stalled on growing if so looks like we'll have this baby next week but I don't think that's the case, she's gain a pound in the last 2 weeks. She's in the light weight divison, and weighing in from the right corner of her mom's uterus 5lbs 4 oz and has killer right jab. She's just going to a little petite girl and she's going to be nameless.
This picture is hard to tell, it went from the sonogram pics they gave me and I took a picture of it with my cell phone and then emailed it to myself to upload it, so sorry it's a little blurry.
I do have one request, at the doctor yesterday it took an extra long time, a couple and their moms were there and they were getting very horrible news and they were all very upset. The nurses and my doctor apologized to me for the wait which I was fine with, I totally understand that the doctors need to spend their time with the people who need it most and obviously this poor couple need the doctor and nurses at that point. My request is to please pray for this couple I could not sleep at all last night because I couldn't get the look in that girl's eyes out of my head.
On a lighter note, Brier seems to be ok with me holding other babies right now he even goes and gets their bottles and brings to me to give them. Hopefully he will continue to be that way even when this little girl doesn't ever go home with another mom.

Is this Nesting??? Is this Normal???
I don't remember being like this with Brier, but I can't get our house clean enough these days. Which heaven knows it could use it, but the Clorox wipes have become my new best friend. I've wiped down everything from the walls to Brier's toys. I didn't think to much about it when I was doing it but now thinking back about this weekend I'm not sure that it was really necessary to pour boiling water down the drains just to clean them out so I could then pour bleach in them and I'm not sure that I need to take all our dishes out of the cabinets and rearrange them and clean out all my kitchen drawers. hmmm, why does this happen these are the days that I'm suppose to be lounging around enjoying the final few moments of rest. I wonder if Dusty is going to get the garage cleaned out like I've requested. hmmm, I'm going to have to resist doing it myself.
Nesting: Spurt of energy
You might wake up one morning feeling energetic, raring to attack dust bunnies under the couch, set up the crib and arrange your baby's outfits according to color. This urge to clean and organize is commonly known as nesting. No one knows for sure, but it may be a primal instinct that hearkens back to a time when physical preparation was necessary for a safer childbirth.
Nesting may begin months before your due date, but the instinct is actually strongest just before delivery. Do what you must, but don't wear yourself out. Save your energy for the harder work of labor ahead.

The month of doctor appointments
I love getting to see her on the sonogram or getting to hear her heartbeat when I go for a NST, but all these doctor appointments are starting to get a little old. This is what I have on the books so far this month.
1/8-NST-1:30
1/8- High-risk dr. appt 3:30
1/10-3:45 regular OB appt
1/16-Brier 9:30 dermatologist,
1/16-me 3:30 regular OB
1/16-NST sometime that day too
1/16- haircut so I'll look half way decent when this little girl sees me for the first time at 4:00 of course this is going to have to be rescheduled. Add that to my list of things to do.
and that's just the next 2 weeks.

He's our all boy, Daddy loving, amazingly messy, John Deere adoring, people pleasing, ultra sensitive, chocolate craving, brown eyed, mercifully giving, bed hopping, dangerously destructive, absolutely precious first born.

She's our total diva, big hearted, completely dramatic, very talkative, nurturing, terribly sassy, independent, fashion forward, fruit craving, Mommy helping, sorta sneaky, beautifully stunning second born!
