Santaland

Dusty wanted to take the kids to Santaland this year so I agreed just happy that he wanted to go and take them. Mom and Dixie went along to and we made some great memories. Only Baylor screamed when we sat her on Santa's lap but I didn't expect anything more and I think these pictures of my kids with Santa will bring back a lot more memories in 30 years than one of them perfectly sitting on his lap and smiling.

It was freezing, I mean seriously.

This picture makes me smile, a lot, I bet your smiling too right now.
And then it got serious, no more smiling was going on. Right here, Brier was looking at Santa's hand and thinking "On second thought, I'm pretty good with my toys I've got right now."
Baylor didn't like Santa at all
but loved Mrs. Claus
and here Baylor was saying "really, are we going to try this again"
Waiting in line to see Santa

I was actually surprised by Santaland, it had it's ghetto features but it was pretty out there.
The mall Santa is more realistic and I know him personally from my mall days. I was even there when the Lubbock Police came and escorted him from his Santa seat. Long and funny story now but not that day. Thank God all the news media missed that on the police scanners. That is when I was pregnant with Brier no wonder I had high blood pressure that pregnancy. Good memories are made this time of year.

Elf on the Shelf

Santa delivered our very own Elf on the Shelf the other day. These little guys are fabulous and every house with kids needs one. I kinda thought it was cheezy when I first heard about it but then I saw how my kids acted around one and I'm in love with him now. The concept is that Santa sends this elf every year to watch you and makes sure you are being good and if you are not then he will go back and tell Santa. He moves each night to a different spot in your house to watch you. He's great, other than our elf has forgotten to move a couple of nights.

I don't know why these pictures are so horrible, crazy camera.

There Once was a Kitty

That was rescued from certain death and nursed back to health to live a life of torture from a little girl that loved him so much.

I took my friend Holly's family pictures this past weekend and she did our pictures. It was exhausting having 3 kids 3 and under luckily our husbands were there or we might have had CPS called on us. She wrote about it on her blog, check it out here. Holly's blog

By the way, I'm not showing our pictures yet because they will be on our Christmas card and gifts.

Fall Festival

Well, I will not be winning Mother of the Year because on the question where they ask "Did your kids have cute Halloween costumes weeks in advance waiting on them." I will have to check NO.

Brier's costume was thrown together with stuff from home and a toy hat from Walmart and I squeezed Baylor into her costume from last year. But after it was all said and done I only spent $7.00 on costume accessories this year so actually I'm pretty happy. So in the spirit of being cheap using what we already have, I thought they were still as cute as could be.

I don't have actual pictures from the festival because I didn't take my camera in. Once again, a mark against me on that award thing but hopefully I can get some from other people soon.

The Corn Maize

We took the kids to the corn maize for the very first time last Saturday and had so much fun. I definitely recommend it if you have kids this age because there is room to get down and run around.

High Cotton

Mom took the kids out to the cotton field while I was gone to enjoy before they come through and wipe it out in a few days.

What you get to do when dad is home

I know, I know. I need to keep this thing updated more but I'm swamped. Swamped at work and swamped at home. Right now we are enjoying Dusty being home for a few days. He has been keeping the kids for a couple of days and of course they got to go ride the horse on the cold day.

I am the vine

Since I'm a slacker mom and all, I haven't gotten Baylor's 18 month pictures taken. She turned 18 months on the 1st. But, I'm glad I waited. Brier needed his 3 1/2 yr picture done too. I love these pictures. They make my heart happy.

The grapes belong to Don and Renee Hill and they were kind enough to let us take pictures in them.

Remember Higgins?

Remember Higgins from here. He was so cute and little and look at Brier's chubby little face.

Well, he celebrated his half birthday on Friday. So he's 6 months old. Keep that in mind when you see him today.

While, I'd love to tell you that I've been the Dog Whisperer and Higgins is this great puppy that will do amazing things, I can't. He does do amazing things like sit and shake and all that good stuff. But, I had under estimated myself and controlling Higgins, Brier and Baylor was difficult and Higgins got to where he'd knock the kids down A LOT and hard. It wasn't his fault he's a puppy and look how big he is. I didn't really have time to train him and comfort the kids so Higgins went to Uncle Jody's boot camp and he's still there and they've made a close bond. So I don't know if he will come back home or not but him and Brier still get along really good and Brier can now ride him.

Lake Fun v2

We got to enjoy a couple days at the lake and it was perfect until the kiddos got sick running a temperature but luckily it was short-lived or else the ride home would have been no bueno at all.

Brier figured out how to wear his hat backward. How come all little boys figure this out on their own sooner or later. Of course he used persuading skills to get my dad, Russ, and even Kegan to all turn their's around too. I think in this picture, we were teaching him how to cross his arms and say, "what, you want some of me." Not really I'm hoping he will be very laid back easy come, easy go kinda guy.

Taking turns driving the boat. Pops and Russ are so good about sharing and taking turns. hehe

Baylor heading to the pool carrying all her gear.

Then the diva side of her kicked in.
